Matthew 5:10-12 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
What does it mean persecuted because of righteousness? persecuted because of righteousness means persecuted because of God’s righteousness, God’s way, because we believe in Jesus, we are Christians, we practice God’s righteousness, do God’s will, and preach the gospel. Lord Jesus said that blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Lord Jesus went on to say that if people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you for his sake, you are blessed, because your reward in heaven is great. We see that the prophets of the Old Testament were persecuted, the apostles and disciples in the New Testament were persecuted, and in every generation, there were preachers, missionaries, and Christians being persecuted. Lord Jesus himself was persecuted and put to death, even crucified on the cross.
Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. (Revelation 22:12)
Here we see that when Lord Jesus comes again, the reward is with Him, he will give to each person according to what they have done. If we pray and draw near to God, we will be rewarded by the Lord. The small things we do in love for the Lord will be rewarded . If we suffer and are persecuted for the Lord we will be rewarded. If we preach the gospel and help people to believe in the Lord, we will be rewarded. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven, and their reward in heaven is great.
May God bless you and your family. 🙏😊
