All believers belong to the same family

46 While Jesus was still talking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to him. 47 Someone told him, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you.” 48 He replied to him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” 49 Pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers. 50 For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.” (Matthew 12:46-50)
Here we see that when the Lord Jesus was talking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside and wanted to talk to him. The Lord Jesus said: “Who is my mother and who are my brothers? For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.” Anyone who does the will of the Heavenly Father is a child of the Heavenly Father, so they are brothers and sisters of the Lord Jesus. Here the Lord Jesus is not to deny the family relationship between Him and His mother and brothers. On the contrary, the Lord Jesus used the picture of family relationship to give people a breakthrough. What the Lord Jesus preached here was a new idea that transcended the concepts of family. This idea brings people into a broader interpersonal relationship. This new interpersonal relationship is not based on blood relations, but on a common belief. Ordinary family relationships have the limitation of protecting the inside and excluding the outsiders. What Jesus preached was a big family without boundaries – the family of God. To become a member of this big family, you only need to meet one condition: you must do God’s will. As Jesus said, anyone who does the will of God is my brother, sister and mother. This concept brings great gospel message to people. It allows anyone who believes in God to establish a spiritual family relationship with Jesus and all believers.
May God bless you and your family! 🙏😊

The reward of serving the Lord

The Lord Jesus said: “Whoever welcomes you welcomes me; whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me.” Here the Lord Jesus said that anyone who welcomes the disciples welcomes him and whoever welcomes him welcomes the Father. The Lord Jesus continued: “Whoever welcomes a prophet as a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and whoever welcomes a righteous person as a righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward. ” When a person receives a prophet, he can learn from the prophet the words given by God directly to him, he can learn from the prophet his experience with God, God’s gifts, etc., and he can share the reward God gives to the prophet. This reward is not just for this life, more importantly for the future.
Example: The Old Testament prophet Elijah went to the house of a widow in Zarephath, Sidon, and was received by the poor widow. Then she would receive the reward that Elijah received. Because he had a share in Elijah’s ministry. The widow of Zarephath received the prophet Elijah, and first her flour never run out, later the widow’s son died and Elijah raised his son from the dead. This is a reward on earth, and she will receive God’s future reward through Elijah’s ministry. He who welcomes a righteous person participates in his righteous deeds and therefore receives his reward.
Example: In the Old Testament, Rahab received and protected two Israeli spies, and later her whole family was saved.
The Lord Jesus continued: “And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.” The Lord Jesus here talks about anyone giving a cup of water to a disciple to drink. Even if you do such a small thing, the Lord will remember it, because when you do it to the disciples, you do it to the Lord. Thank and praise the Lord.
May God bless you and your family! 🙏😊

The cost of discipleship

34 “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to turn “‘a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law 36 a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.’ 37 “Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38 Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39 Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it. (Matthew 10:34-39)

Here the Lord Jesus said: “I did not come to bring peace on earth, but a sword.” What does this mean? Later, when the Lord Jesus was arrested, Peter took out a knife and Jesus said to him, “Put your sword back in its place, for all who draw the sword will die by the sword.”(Matthew 26:52)
Here the Lord Jesus said that anyone who takes the sword will die by the sword, so He is not telling people to use the sword. The Lord Jesus is the Prince of Peace, who wants people to reconcile with God and brings peace to the people. But some people believe in the Lord, their family are very opposed to them and become their enemies. In this way, there will be no peace. The Lord Jesus continued: “Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.” Here the Lord Jesus said that when there is a conflict between loving the Lord and loving your family, choose loving the Lord.
Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.” Carrying the cross means dying to the self, not living for yourself, if you live for yourself, if you find life will lose it,  if you lose life for the Lord’s sake, lives for the Lord will gain life, gain eternal life, and gain the reward in the future.
I had a dream at the end of year 2000. The whole dream was about writing songs. It gave me the feeling that I would write many songs. After the dream, I immediately started writing songs, one after another. Now I have written many songs. I didn’t know how to write songs, but the Lord gave me the gift of songwriting, now I have written many songs. When you work for the Lord, the Lord will give the gifts to help you, thank the Lord!
May God bless you and your family! 🙏😊
