18 While he was saying this, a synagogue leader came and knelt before him and said, “My daughter has just died. But come and put your hand on her, and she will live.” 19 Jesus got up and went with him, and so did his disciples. 20 Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. 21 She said to herself, “If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.” 22 Jesus turned and saw her. “Take heart, daughter,” he said, “your faith has healed you.” And the woman was healed at that moment. (Matthew 9:18-22)
Here we see that a Jewish synagogue leader came to knee the Lord Jesus because his daughter had just died and wanted the Lord Jesus to lay hands on his daughter and resurrect his daughter. The Lord Jesus went with his disciples. on the way a woman who had suffered from bleeding for twelve years came up behind Jesus and touched the edge of his cloak. She said to herself, “If I just touch his cloak, I will be healed.” and she was healed after touching.
She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. (Mark 5:26)
From the parallel passage in the Gospel of Mark, we know that she saw many doctors and spent all her money, but she did not get better and became worse. However, she had faith in the Lord Jesus and believed that she could be healed just by touching the edge of his cloak. The Lord Jesus said: “Take heart, daughter, your faith has healed you.” Because of her faith, she was not only healed but also saved.
When a woman has a discharge of blood for many days at a time other than her monthly period or has a discharge that continues beyond her period, she will be unclean as long as she has the discharge, just as in the days of her period. (Leviticus 15:25)
According to the book of Leviticus in the Old Testament, this woman with bleeding was unclean, but she was healed, saved, and cleansed by touching the the edge of Jesus’ cloak.
I hope more people will come to the Lord Jesus and accept Him as the Lord and Savior of your life, so that you can be born again and be saved.
May God bless you and your family!
